Baccano! DS

The sudden Baccano! boom in 2007 marked the start of a new Grand Punk Railroad revolution. Being one of the most popular timelines in Baccano! universe, not only were we offered a high-quality 13-episode (+OVA) anime and a beautiful manga series to match the exciting days of Flying Pussyfoot, a Nintendo DS? game is also in the progress as we speak. Seems like another big commotion is waiting ahead ;)

Is this game for you?

I've had the opportunity to try out a demo version of Baccano! DS in November 2007, which looked everything like a full-scale novel with beautiful animations as an extra. In other words, if you're thinking about purchasing a RPG? with brand-new characters, or if you're not too familiar with the 1931 timeline in Baccano!, this game might not be the product for you: it simply serves as a supplement to the existing plot of Baccano! 1931, which as we know was written in very specific character POVs instead of using third-person narrative?.

Special features

Apart from the 50+ new endings Narita prepared for this game, it was revealed that Elmer C. Albatross - the infamous Smile Junkie of Baccano! - was also on board Flying Pussyfoot in 1931! His actions in the train will likely be used as one of the game's key events, not to mention my personal suspicion that Lavro Fermet Velaresk might also have taken a part in the 1931 incident. (Refer to Baccano! 2002 [B side] for more information.)

Furthermore, a special game booklet written by Narita will be reserved for anyone who preorders Baccano! DS before February 2008. I'm not sure whether it'll be a side novel or simply a series of paragraphs explaining the various new endings, though the game itself is a must-buy either way. More information will be added to this page once I've received my copy of Baccano! DS. Stay tunned!
