Prohibition
A law that forbids the creation and sales of alcoholic drinks, passed down in 1920 by the federal government of United States. As the consumption of liquor was not exactly included in this law, a series of illegal activities were triggered by its enforcement (i.e. the creation of speakeasies) and gradually became a major source of income to criminal organizations. This law was abolished in 1933.
