Rail Tracer
Formally known as "One that chases the shadow of the railroad tracks", this monster-like figure was a product of urban legend (origin unknown) and possesses countless shapes. According to the legend, once the Rail Tracer locks his target on a specific train, all passengers from it will be erased one-by-one, starting from the very last cart of the train.
There are two ways to avoid or survive Rail Tracer's massacre. One is to believe its existence - it might spare the life of those who are truly in awe of its power. However, if Rail Tracer makes an appearance before the aforesaid measure of precaution could be taken, one must try to run away from it until sunrise - the monster will disappear at the first sign of sunlight.
Meanwhile, Rail Tracer also serves as the alias of a certain character in Baccano!, whose true identity was first revealed in The Grand Punk Railroad: Express Episode.
